Good morning, Vinton County. The dramatic acoustics of Ash Cave will soon be filled with something other than echoing footsteps and birdsong. On June 15, the Columbus Symphony Orchestra returns to this natural amphitheater for their fourth annual performance, transforming the ancient rock formation into perhaps Ohio's most unique concert venue. With parking passes going on sale May 2 and expected to sell out quickly, nature and music enthusiasts might want to mark their calendars now for this remarkable outdoor experience.

While some communities are gaining cultural treasures, others are losing longtime institutions. After serving Wellston residents for 45 years, Fruth's Pharmacy will close its doors permanently on May 5, leaving the town without a local pharmacy for the first time in decades. In more uplifting news, both Jackson and Wellston are uniting in spirit for National Day of Prayer events on May 1, offering residents two different gatherings focused on community connection and reflection.
