🏫 Wellston School Board taps Scott Dorne as new superintendent. The current deputy superintendent of Westerville City Schools will take over leadership of the Wellston City School District. Board members approved the hiring during a brief special session held Tuesday evening, April 22, at Wellston High School cafetorium. The decision marks a significant leadership transition for the district as Dorne prepares to leave his current position for the top role at Wellston.

🎭 Gallia County's May calendar bursts with steampunk, gaming, and history. The Gallipolis Railroad Freight Station Museum will host its third annual Steampunk Festival on May 3, featuring costume contests, tours of railroad cars, and themed merchandise. Gaming enthusiasts can look forward to Final Boss Con at the University of Rio Grande on May 17-18, with celebrity guests, tournaments, and cosplay competitions. 🏫 Vinton County Schools appoints Brad Silvus as new Superintendent. The former math teacher and Ohio University graduate was hired during Tuesday's board meeting. Silvus, who hails from Beverly, Ohio and is a Fort Frye High School alumnus, brings multiple academic credentials to the role, including several master's degrees. Meanwhile, nearby Wellston is facing changes of its own, with Scott Dorne recently hired as their superintendent and the community set to lose its only pharmacy.
