Good morning, Vinton County. There's nothing quite like witnessing a community rally around one of its own. This Saturday, Hamden residents will gather at the Firefighters Community Building to support Connie Lambert in her battle against widespread cancer. The "Cares for Connie" benefit will feature auctions, raffles, and that unmistakable small-town spirit that reminds us why rural Ohio communities remain so special—they show up when neighbors need them most.

Meanwhile, one of Ohio's most spectacular natural wonders is preparing for a symphony. Ash Cave in Hocking Hills will transform into nature's concert hall on June 15 when the Columbus Symphony Orchestra returns for their fourth annual performance. The ancient sandstone formation, once a gathering place for Indigenous peoples, will soon amplify classical melodies throughout its 700-foot horseshoe curve. Mark your calendars for May 2 when tickets go on sale—these unique musical experiences typically sell out fast.
