Good morning, Union County. The passion of Ohio wheat farmers is proving as resilient as their crops. Despite battling fungal diseases, unpredictable weather, and market uncertainties, these agricultural stewards gathered at OSU's Small Grains Field Day to share knowledge and strengthen their third-largest grain industry. Their determination to "do more with fewer resources" reflects the grit that has long defined our farming communities—finding ways to thrive even when the forecast looks challenging.

On a completely different front, Attorney General Dave Yost is standing up for consumers who've been left empty-handed by three Ohio businesses allegedly failing to deliver on promises. Meanwhile, Independence Day celebrations are expanding to a two-day extravaganza this year, with downtown parades on July 4th followed by fairground festivities and fireworks on July 5th. With bounce houses, face painting, and a chance to win Justin Moore concert tickets, this double-header celebration promises twice the patriotic fun.

🌾 Ohio wheat farmers battle multiple challenges to stay profitable. Around 50 farmers and international scholars gathered at Ohio State University's Small Grains Field Day seeking expert advice on wheat cultivation. Growers face headwinds including fungal diseases, changing weather patterns, rising costs, and export uncertainties. With wheat being Ohio's third-largest grain crop, farmers like Owen Niese are working to expand international markets while organizations like Ohio Corn & Wheat focus on increasing profitability through research and lobbying. Despite these challenges, many farmers remain passionate about their work, embracing new technologies and strategies to do more with fewer resources.
