Good morning, Union County. It takes a special kind of heartlessness to steal from children's lemonade stands, yet that's exactly what happened to local kids saving for Zoombezi Bay passes. The siblings' disappointment—"Mommy, why are people so mean?"—has been met with a heartwarming community response, with neighbors already contributing half the funds needed to restore their summer dream. This contrast between callousness and compassion reveals the true character of our community when facing adversity.

The timeless themes of friendship and resilience will take center stage as "Steel Magnolias" comes to The Avalon Theatre this July. The beloved Southern classic promises both laughter and tears as six women navigate life's joys and sorrows together in Truvy's beauty salon. Meanwhile, the political landscape continues to evolve with attorney Ben Weber entering the race for the 86th House District with a platform focused on traditional conservative values and constitutional principles.

☕️ What's Brewing Locally

🍋 Thieves steal Delaware kids' lemonade stand money for waterpark passes. The siblings, aged 5-9, had been raising funds to buy Zoombezi Bay memberships when someone swiped their money container during cleanup. "Mommy, why are people so mean? I worked so hard," asked the heartbroken 9-year-old after the incident. The family created a GoFundMe page with a $500 goal to help fulfill the children's summer dream. Community members have already contributed $250, with the mother noting a trip to Zoombezi Bay "would be a new core memory for them."
