Good morning, Summit County. After nearly four decades of transforming Kent State's campuses, Dean Denise Seachrist is taking her final bow. The former opera singer aspirant who rose to lead the Stark and Salem campuses leaves behind a legacy of historic enrollment numbers, impressive campus improvements, and unwavering commitment to student success. As she trades administrative duties for retirement on her East Palestine farm, her remarkable 40-year journey reminds us that the most impactful careers often blend passion with purpose.

While night owls should note the Akron Beltway's overnight ramp closures this week (9 p.m. to 5 a.m. through Wednesday), music enthusiasts have something electrifying on the horizon. Rock & Roll Hall of Famer David Byrne is bringing his renaissance tour to the Akron Civic Theatre this September, following the success of his acclaimed Broadway show. The legendary Talking Heads frontman joins comedy icons Steve Martin and Martin Short in a star-studded lineup heading to our local venues this fall.
