Good morning, Summit County. The wheels of progress are turning rapidly in Green Local Schools with a substantial $5.9 million investment in a new bus garage. The project represents just one piece of the district's forward momentum, which includes donating buses to community organizations and welcoming five new educators to shape young minds this fall. These developments highlight how our local institutions continue to evolve despite challenging economic times.

Meanwhile, early voting has begun for the May 6 primary, bringing crucial decisions to ballot boxes across the county. From competitive Akron City Council races to infrastructure funding questions, voters face choices that will shape our community's future. Even the smallest corners of our region are thinking big—Peninsula Village is advancing ambitious roadway improvements and pursuing potential multi-million-dollar grants despite recent funding setbacks, demonstrating that determination often matters more than size.

The Akron-Summit County Public Library seeks a $160 million bond issue for facility improvements, costing homeowners $35 annually per $100,000 of property value. Additionally, Highland Local School District is requesting a 7.4-mill emergency operating levy to maintain essential educational services.
