🦽 Courthouse for all

Summit County • March 5, 2025

Good morning, Summit County. Accessibility takes a giant leap forward as Akron Municipal Courthouse becomes home to Ohio's first universal changing station for adults with disabilities. This pioneering facility—fully funded by Summit County Developmental Disabilities Board with ARPA grant money—ensures that courthouse visitors of all mobility levels receive care with dignity, reflecting our community's commitment to genuine inclusion for everyone.

Meanwhile, a tropical storm of a different kind is brewing in Richfield, where Mai Tai Mayhem will transform the Quality Inn into a three-day tiki paradise next March. And in a homecoming story worth celebrating, Buchtel graduate Dr. Stacey Hodoh has returned to her roots, bringing Google-honed expertise to tackle Akron Public Schools' communication challenges. The former basketball standout's dedication to her hometown runs so deep she'd "do it for free"—now that's Akron spirit.
