Good morning, Scioto County. When temperatures soar, communities find creative ways to beat the heat—something South Point residents demonstrated perfectly during their Party in the Park celebrations. Despite scorching conditions, families flocked to enjoy everything from barrel train rides to pie-eating contests, while newly crowned Miss Ohio Olivia Fosson made her triumphant first appearance in Lawrence County since claiming her title. The day culminated in a spectacular three-state fireworks collaboration lighting up the Ohio River sky.

Meanwhile, local businesses continue putting down roots across our region. Family-owned Sargent's Tire just opened its third location in Grayson, saving Carter County customers that thirty-minute drive for tire services. Art enthusiasts can mark their calendars for July 25, when Grayson Gallery's summer show transforms into a creative haven featuring cash prizes, original artwork in all mediums, and live music by Redefyned—just remember to dress for the summer temperatures!

Owner Mike Sargent established the new shop to save local customers from driving thirty minutes for tire services. The Grayson location offers free mounting and balancing for passenger vehicles, trucks, and trailers, with same-day availability for most orders. Future plans include expanding into small repairs like brakes and rotors while maintaining the company's commitment to employing local workers.
