Good morning, Scioto County. Mark your calendars for June 28—a beloved tradition returns as The Taste of Ironton makes its comeback after a six-year hiatus. The $10 ticket books will unlock culinary adventures from dozens of local vendors at the Ironton Farmers Market, with the new People's Choice Award adding a dash of friendly competition to the festivities. After being shelved since 2020, this community celebration arrives just in time for summer gatherings around good food and better company.

From food for the stomach to food for the mind, Adams County libraries are serving up a buffet of May activities spanning all generations. Preschoolers can dive into themed storytimes while school-aged children construct Newton's Cradles during STEAM workshops. Meanwhile, a piece of Waverly history changed hands back in the 1970s when the former Walnut School property was sold to the city for $50,000—transforming from educational cornerstone to potential public park space.

🏫 Historic school property changes hands for $50,000 in 1970s Waverly. The Waverly School District deeded the former Walnut School property to the city of Waverly for municipal development. Mayor Clarence Brown presented the check to Superintendent John Teichert, who handed over the deed for the city-block site. The city planned to use the building for council chambers and potentially transform the tree-shaded grounds into a public park. The property, formerly Waverly High School, was surrounded by a wrought iron fence and had been considered for sale since 1969.
