Good morning, Scioto County. Spring cleaning season arrives just in time as Ironton offers residents a chance to declutter next week. From Tuesday through March 22, those dumpsters at the Wolohan Building on South 3rd Street might be the most popular spot in town, with city residents able to safely dispose of unwanted household items (just remember to bring your ID and utility bill). It's the perfect opportunity to reclaim that garage space you've been eyeing since last summer.
While some clean house, others prepare to celebrate. The Seven Nations St. Patrick's Day Parade rolls through Portsmouth this Saturday, bringing a touch of Irish spirit to our weekend. Local creatives will showcase their talents at the Spring Makers Market, supporting a worthy scholarship fund. And for those following more serious news, a major drug bust in Lucasville reminds us of ongoing law enforcement efforts to keep our communities safe, with two arrests and substantial seizures of dangerous substances.

π§Ή Ironton offers spring cleaning help for residents next week. The City of Ironton's Clean-up Week runs Tuesday through March 22, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., with dumpsters placed at Wolohan Building on South 3rd Street. Residents must present ID and a current city utility bill to dispose of unwanted household items. Due to EPA regulations, several items will be accepted including tires, batteries, paint, and electronic waste. The initiative aims to help community members safely discard household waste they no longer need.
π¨ Massive drug bust in Ohio nets meth, fentanyl, and firearms. Law enforcement executed a search warrant at Carla Blair's Lucasville residence, seizing drugs with an estimated street value of $29,440. Officers allegedly found 328 grams of crystal meth, 125 grams of fentanyl, crack cocaine, four loaded guns, and nearly $3,000 cash. Blair, 49, and Davion Black, 29, of Dayton, face multiple felony charges including drug trafficking and weapons violations. The case will be forwarded to prosecutors for potential additional charges.
