Adena's Katie Burns earned regional runner-up in high jump with a leap of 5-3, and Westfall's 4x400M relay team secured a second-place finish at 3:24.15.
βΎ Huntington's early lead crumbles in heartbreaking district final loss. The Huntsmen built a 3-0 advantage before Eastern scored five runs in a pivotal fourth inning, ultimately falling 9-6 despite a late comeback attempt. Meanwhile, Southeastern dominated their semifinal game, crushing Symmes Valley 13-6 behind Carson McWhorter's complete game with 13 strikeouts. The Panthers used a seven-run fourth inning, highlighted by Gage Cheadle's three-run triple, to secure their spot in the Division VI district championship against Waterford on June 1.

Anna Mary's Fried Pies is building a new 2,000-square-foot facility in Londonderry that will create four jobs and increase production capacity. The expansion is supported by a $25,000 JobsOhio Small Business Grant, designed to help small businesses in qualifying areas. Since its founding in 2020, the company has supplied frozen pastries to restaurants and grocery stores across several states, recently diversifying its product line with apple dumplings and ice cream offerings. Local officials praised the expansion as an example of how businesses can thrive in Southeast Ohio.
π Downtown Chillicothe welcomes Cranberry Boutique to vibrant new location. Owner Bobbi Blanton relocated her women's clothing store from Bridge Street to 26 W Water Street to continue growing and capture more foot traffic. The boutique specializes in on-trend designs for women of all sizes and ages, offering everything from dresses and tops to jewelry and shoes. With the expanded space, customers can expect more products and regular storefront changes. "Everyone who walks through our doors, we want them to feel confident, beautiful and uniquely themselves," says Blanton.
π Fluor-BWXT invests $26,000 in local students' futures. The company awarded scholarships to 15 graduating seniors across Pike, Scioto, Ross, and Jackson counties this year. While $2,000 STEAM scholarships support students pursuing science-related college degrees, the company also introduced $1,000 Trade scholarships for those entering skilled trades. Students from multiple high schools including Chillicothe, Unioto, Huntington, Waverly, and Eastern were among this year's recipients. Since 2011, FBP has contributed $338,000 to southern Ohio students' education.

An individual has been arrested on multiple serious charges including aggravated burglary, felonious assault, and vandalism. They are currently in custody following an incident that involved resisting law enforcement.
This person was taken into custody after allegedly engaging in endangering children, abduction, and domestic violence in two separate instances. The local sheriff's department continues to investigate the details surrounding these distressing charges.
Another individual faces charges related to the possession of drugs classified as schedule I or II substances. They were apprehended by the police in a targeted operation and are currently awaiting further legal proceedings.
A separate arrest involves a person charged with theft, criminal trespass, and obstructing official business. This case is currently under review by the authorities for further action.
