Good morning, Preble County. Mark your calendars and prep your taste buds—July is shaping up to be a month of spectacular returns. West Alexandria's Peace Park will transform into celebration central for the Fourth, with vendors, food trucks, and a car show culminating in a lighted parade and fireworks display. Meanwhile, after perfecting her famous birria tacos through customer feedback, Middletown native Deshanae Lewis is bringing Taco Bout Crab back to eager fans, this time with rooftop seating and margaritas to complement those sought-after seafood boils.

The summer fun doesn't stop there. Young anglers can test their skills at the free Youth Fishing Derby at Crystal Lake, while movie buffs can float and watch "Moana 2" during the Dive-In Movie Night complete with water slides and foam cannons. Just note those bridge replacement projects on Pleasant Valley and Magill Roads—detours might be necessary on your way to summer adventures.

🌮 Beloved taco and seafood restaurant returns to Middletown this July. Taco Bout Crab will share space with Middies Pub & Grub at 1045 Central Ave., reuniting with customers who've been requesting its comeback since its Tytus Avenue location closed. Owner Deshanae Lewis, a Middletown native, perfected her now-famous birria tacos through customer feedback after launching her restaurant business in 2020 following her father's death from COVID. The new location will feature rooftop seating, margaritas, and a menu of seafood boils, ramen, and various protein options in tacos, burritos and bowls.
