Good morning, Preble County. Coming in $200,000 under budget sounds like music to taxpayers' ears! Eaton Community Schools just greenlit a major parking lot renovation at a significantly lower cost than expected, proving that infrastructure improvements don't always have to break the bank. The $367,803 project, funded by a dedicated levy, will begin June 2—transforming drainage systems and surfaces without touching the general fund. Meanwhile, leadership changes are reshaping Brookville Schools with Erin Wheat stepping into a new role as Dean of Students/Athletic Director while Kris Ketron takes over as intermediate school principal.

As these educational institutions evolve their physical spaces and leadership teams, one Miami University senior offers a poignant reflection on institutional change from a different perspective. In a heartfelt critique, Sam Norton expresses concern about shifts potentially affecting Miami's liberal arts tradition—a reminder that beyond buildings and budgets, educational institutions hold deep emotional significance for those who walk their halls.
