Good morning, Preble County. The Roaring '20s are making a stylish comeback in Oxford this April, with the Community Arts Center's Gatsby Gala promising all the glamour of the Jazz Age. While partygoers prepare their flapper dresses and fedoras for this speakeasy-inspired fundraiser, Butler County's Emergency Management Agency has been dealing with a different kind of roar—the recent storms that spawned two funnel clouds reaching 85 mph, toppling trees and cutting power across southwest Ohio.

Meanwhile, local diners might want to check recent health inspection reports before choosing their next meal destination. Butler County's March inspections revealed concerning violations at several Oxford establishments, with Tea Cha House leading the list with a creative—albeit alarming—approach to kitchen equipment that included a tree log cutting board and duct-taped blender repairs. Fortunately, spots like Five Grains Noodle House and Gaslight Brewhouse passed with flying colors, proving food safety excellence still exists in town.
