Good morning, Preble County. Fire crews in the Miami Valley had their hands full this weekend battling two separate garage blazes. In Trotwood, a detached garage on Foxboro Drive was completely consumed by flames Saturday evening, with quick-responding firefighters successfully preventing the fire from spreading to the nearby home. Just hours earlier, Eaton emergency teams tackled another detached garage fire on East High Street around 4 a.m., with both incidents thankfully resulting in no reported injuries.

On the roads, early commuters faced a brief traffic disruption Monday morning when a crash temporarily closed the left lane of I-70 westbound near State Route 48. Ohio State Highway Patrol troopers were on scene by 6:25 a.m., and while details about potential injuries remain unavailable, crews efficiently cleared the accident and restored normal traffic flow. A reminder that even in the quieter winter months, our first responders remain vigilant around the clock.
