🏆 Hometown hall

Preble County • March 28, 2025

Good morning, Preble County. The halls of fame aren't just for professional athletes—they're for hometown heroes too. Arcanum's Hall of Fame will soon welcome two remarkable individuals who've left lasting impressions: Carrie Schmidt, whose legal expertise serves her community daily, and Doug Albright, whose musical guidance shaped nearly three decades of young musicians. Their April 12 induction ceremony celebrates excellence that ripples through generations.

Meanwhile, timing couldn't have been worse for one Hillsboro driver whose Jeep Cherokee flipped just days before a scheduled 90-day road closure in the same area. As that section of Farmers Road prepares for repairs, community volunteers are focusing on happier pursuits—stuffing a remarkable 10,000 eggs for the upcoming Easter hunt at Sycamore State Park, ensuring local children will have plenty of treasures to discover on April 5.
