🚚 Food truck fever

Preble County • March 25, 2025

Good morning, Preble County. Just when winter's grip seemed endless, the return of Middletown's Food Truck Fridays signals spring is truly on its way. The popular community gathering kicks off April 11 with "Game Night" at Sunset Park, introducing creative new themed evenings that promise to transform these monthly meetups into something beyond just delicious meals. From Symphony Night to a BBQ Throwdown, these events have become so anticipated that organizers field inquiries as early as January.

Meanwhile, accessibility takes center stage at Eaton's A.S.K. Playground with a new restroom facility designed for visitors of all abilities. The March 28 grand opening celebrates a community-funded project enhancing this inclusive space. On a cautionary note, area residents should be vigilant about phone scammers posing as Montgomery County Sheriff's employees demanding payments for supposed missed court dates—Sheriff Streck confirms his office never requests payment over the phone for unpaid fines.

📱 Phone scammers are impersonating Montgomery County Sheriff's Office employees. The scammers tell residents they've missed court dates or have urgent legal matters, threatening arrest unless payments are made through platforms like PayPal or Apple Pay. Sheriff Rob Streck warns these convincing fraudsters use caller ID spoofing to appear legitimate, often posing as "Director Russell" from the office. Streck emphasizes that the sheriff's office will never demand payment or threaten arrest over the phone for unpaid fines or warrants. Residents are urged to verify any suspicious calls and report them to local police.
