Powell • April 8, 2025
Good morning, Powell. The sound of jackhammers and detour signs will become the unofficial soundtrack of spring as Union County braces for multiple road closures starting this week. State Route 739 kicks off the construction season on April 7, while the more extensive U.S. Route 36 shutdown will test drivers' patience from mid-April through July. Meanwhile, SR 736 settles in for a marathon project lasting well into 2026 β perhaps time to dust off those alternate routes you've been meaning to explore.
In other community news, Richwood bids farewell to a true American hero as Jack Allen Moore, decorated with Bronze Stars and a lifetime of service, passes at 91. And for those tracking the local real estate pulse, Delaware County's luxury market continues its hot streak with numerous $500,000+ transactions, particularly in our own Powell neighborhoods where new construction homes are commanding premium prices.
