Good morning, Portage County. Ravenna has lost one of its brightest lights, but Patti Hicks' legacy will now shine permanently in the heart of the city. The lifelong resident who selflessly served multiple community organizations will be honored posthumously on July 26 with the dedication of Honorary Way at the Courthouse Lawn—a fitting tribute to someone who, as Chamber director Ryann Cline noted, "helped make our community a better place."

Meanwhile, pierogies are proving to be big business as Pierogies of Cleveland prepares to expand into Richfield Village with a new manufacturing facility supporting distribution across eight states. And for those whose appetites extend beyond Eastern European dumplings, just a short drive away awaits a culinary paradise—Cleveland Heights and University Heights boast 25 dining gems spanning Ethiopian cuisine, craft beer establishments, and beloved local institutions that satisfy every craving imaginable.

The ceremony renaming the street sign and bench at South Park Way will take place July 26 at the Ravenna Courthouse Lawn. Hicks, who passed away in August 2024, was a lifelong Ravenna resident who served as a trustee for Balloon A-Fair, secretary of the Chamber of Commerce, and executive board member of Rotary Club. She also volunteered at Haven of Portage County and Center of Hope during Christmas assistance. Chamber director Ryann Cline praised Hicks' dedication and selflessness, noting she "helped make our community a better place."
