🧪 Small school sparkle

Portage County • March 25, 2025

Good morning, Portage County. The halls of Gross Schechter Day School are buzzing with scientific triumph as nine students from the small Jewish school collected an impressive 17 awards at the Northeastern Ohio Science Fair. Standing tall among 350 competitors from 75 schools, these young scientists demonstrated that remarkable talent often comes in small packages—with Lielle Greller capturing first place in behavioral science and several classmates securing prestigious honors across multiple categories.

Meanwhile, musical nostalgia is sweeping through our region from multiple directions. The "Happy Together Tour" will transport audiences back to the '60s this August when The Turtles, Jay And The Americans, and Rock & Roll Hall of Famer Little Anthony bring their collective 55 Billboard hits to MGM Northfield Park. For those with classical tastes, Stars in the Classics' Spring Cabaret offers a different kind of musical journey on March 29, celebrating immigrant composers who enriched America's cultural tapestry through their timeless melodies.
