Good morning, Pike County. Thirteen incidents in a single day kept Chillicothe police officers running from call to call last week, including a serious rape investigation involving a victim with disabilities. The October 25 law enforcement marathon also included searching for missing juveniles, handling traffic crashes, and recovering an abandoned electric bike—a stark reminder of the diverse challenges our local officers face daily while keeping our community safe.

While navigating Pike County roads, you'll want to keep an eye out for orange barrels as multiple construction projects continue through 2025. State Route 335 will completely close for tree trimming starting November 17, with detours in place. In more forward-looking news, the Pike County and Ross County YMCAs are joining forces to create the Scioto Valley YMCA in 2026, a strategic merger that leaders say will strengthen community programs through shared resources and expertise.
