π Pike County's energy assistance program finds new home in Piketon. The Community Action Committee of Pike County is relocating its Community Services Program to 528 S. West Street by month's end. This strategic move comes just before the November 1st launch of the HEAP Winter Crisis Program, ensuring uninterrupted support for residents needing energy assistance during cold months. The new location aims to improve accessibility for transportation-challenged clients seeking help with utilities and housing. "This transition is a real benefit to the people we serve," said Keith Pitts, CAC President and CEO.
π’ Chillicothe's biggest business gathering is just weeks away. The Chillicothe Ross Chamber's 2025 Business Expo will take place Wednesday, November 12th from 4-7pm at Triple Crown Family Fun Center. This free community event features over 60 local businesses, complimentary food, and door prizes for attendees. π Ohio's mobile treatment units bring opioid help to rural doorsteps. The state unveiled its first Mobile Medication Units (MMUs) in Chillicothe to deliver lifesaving opioid treatment directly to underserved communities. The initiative will serve seven southern Ohio counties where overdose rates remain highest due to limited access to care. Fully equipped vehicles staffed by medical professionals will dispense medications like methadone and buprenorphine while also providing counseling and case management. Funded by a $1.7 million federal grant, the program expects to serve approximately 200 people in its first year.
