Good morning, Pike County. Some things stand the test of time, and Globe Furniture's 120-year presence in downtown Chillicothe certainly qualifies. The last department store standing recently celebrated this remarkable milestone with ribbon-cutting ceremonies and historical window displays, showcasing five generations of family business history across its impressive 60,000-square-foot space. While this local landmark celebrates its past, the county's housing market tells its own story, with median listing prices dipping slightly to $271,175 in September, though homes continue selling faster than the national average.

On a more troubling note, what began as a family dispute on Winona Boulevard escalated dramatically when Albert Scoles allegedly shot his brother during an altercation. The incident led authorities to uncover a startling cache of over 30 firearms—many illegal—along with suspected drugs and a substantial amount of cash. The case serves as a stark reminder that even in close-knit communities, dangerous situations can unfold behind closed doors.
