Good morning, Pike County. Swift justice was on display at Piketon Mayor's Court earlier this month, where multiple drivers faced the music for everything from expired registrations to driving under suspension. The proceedings highlighted how our local judicial system efficiently handles minor traffic violations—with all defendants ultimately pleading no contest, accepting guilt, and reaching for their wallets to cover fines and court costs.

While one part of our region focuses on enforcement, another tackles compassion. The numbers from Ross County's Operation Bridge 2025 tell a powerful story of progress: 417 successful community contacts, 65 naloxone kits distributed, and 12 individuals connected to treatment services. The county's comprehensive approach appears to be working, with overdose deaths decreasing in 2024 and a remarkable 52.5% increase in naloxone distribution—efforts that recently earned their Post Overdose Response Team well-deserved recognition.
