Good morning, Muskingum County. A haunting silence has fallen over the local karaoke scene following the tragic death of Benjamin "Donkey" Hawk, whose angelic voice was forever silenced in a shocking act of violence at Buckeye Lake's Louie's Corner House. The 42-year-old karaoke enthusiast, remembered for his larger-than-life presence and kind heart, was allegedly shot by Richard Lindgren, the jealous ex-husband of Hawk's singing partner. As the community mourns, two fundraisers have been established to support Hawk's daughters and cover funeral expenses.

On a brighter note, theatrical magic is bringing "Beetlejuice Jr." to life at Zanesville's Renner Theater this month. The production features two alternating casts of young performers, many making their stage debuts, complete with impressive special effects and vintage-inspired costumes. With both evening and matinee performances throughout July, this community celebration of local talent offers the perfect opportunity to support emerging stars while enjoying a beloved supernatural comedy.
