Good morning, Muskingum County. A piece of living American history awaits its next chapter as the Buxton Inn hits the market for $5.85 million. This 212-year-old Granville landmark has continuously welcomed guests since 1812—including three U.S. presidents—and features a wine cellar that once operated as a Prohibition-era speakeasy. The historic property's price tag represents quite the return on investment for preservationist Robert Schilling, who purchased it for $1.8 million in 2014 and saved it from the demolition fate that threatened it in the 1970s.

Transformation is in the air across our region, from Glouster's ambitious $2.8 million revitalization of the Knights of Pythias building into a small business hub, to the well-deserved recognition of Heath High School's Kat Fields as Zone 10 Principal of the Year. Fields humbly deflects praise to her team's "relentless focus on what is best for students"—a philosophy that's clearly paying dividends as she advances as a finalist for the statewide honor.
