Good morning, Muskingum County. Lady Luck has smiled on Zanesville with a local Walmart shopper turning a $5 scratch-off ticket into a life-changing $150,000 windfall. The "Invaders from the Planet Moohlah" game delivered more than just an out-of-this-world name—it provided approximately $108,000 after taxes to one fortunate resident, while two more top prizes remain unclaimed for those feeling similarly adventurous.

In other local developments, a changing of the guard has occurred in Zanesville's Sixth Ward as Mike King steps into the council role vacated by 14-year veteran Andy Roberts. The Genesis Employees Credit Union CEO brings his business acumen to city government with plans to focus on safety, fiscal responsibility, and economic growth. Meanwhile, the justice system continues its work against drug trafficking, with Jason Lee Clapper receiving a seven-year sentence for his role as methamphetamine middleman in operations that unfortunately occurred near school property.
