Good morning, Muskingum County. Excellence is thriving at Muskingum University, where three remarkable faculty members have been honored for their exceptional contributions to campus life. Associate Professor Kristine Pray's hands-on teaching methods, Dr. Jason Kehrberg's impressive portfolio of 19 scholarly publications, and Assistant Professor Arjun Sondhi's dedicated leadership in student organizations showcase the university's commitment to academic distinction in a tradition dating back to 1895.

While academic achievements were being celebrated, Mother Nature quietly made her presence known with a 3.1 magnitude earthquake near Pleasant City early Tuesday morning. The gentle tremor, occurring around 4 a.m. at a depth of 3.1 miles, went largely unnoticed by sleeping residents. In fact, the Guernsey County Sheriff's Department didn't receive a single call about the earth's subtle shifting—a reminder that sometimes the most significant events happen right beneath our feet without fanfare.
