🏆 Winning through rain

Muskingum County • April 9, 2025

Good morning, Muskingum County. Talk about a tale of two teams! Zanesville baseball found its rhythm Monday with a satisfying 7-4 victory over Watkins Memorial, snapping an eight-game losing streak thanks to Canon Mercer's career-high performance and a season-best .515 on-base percentage. The win offers a refreshing contrast to the softball team's struggles, as the Lady Blue Devils suffered their 14th consecutive defeat against the same school, though the 12-1 loss shows improvement from last year's 20-0 blowout.

Even April showers couldn't dampen spirits at River View High's 2025 prom celebration. Despite the downpour, students traded umbrellas for corsages at Lake Park Pavilion, with photographer Jessica Summers capturing all the glamour and joy of the evening. The stunning images showcase these resilient teenagers making unforgettable memories—proving that sometimes the most magical nights happen right through the rain.
