🎵 Cultural crescendo

Muskingum County • April 10, 2025

Good morning, Muskingum County. The unmistakable, sunshine-bright sounds of Caribbean steel drums will soon fill Newcomerstown Middle School as Dover High School's acclaimed percussion ensemble brings tropical rhythms to our corner of Ohio this Saturday. This free concert celebrating the school's centennial is just one highlight in a weekend packed with musical offerings, including Zanesville's own "Bach to Broadway" showcase at Secrest Auditorium—a testament to 115 years of local musical excellence featuring performers from elementary pianists to returning hometown talents.

Meanwhile, history buffs are gearing up for the 15th annual Cutler Heritage Day on April 26th. This cherished community tradition will transform the Cutler Community Center into a living museum of local stories, from railroad history to Underground Railroad accounts and treasured family heirlooms. Between steel drums, Broadway classics, and historical treasures, our county's cultural calendar is hitting all the right notes this spring.
