Muskingum County • March 11, 2025
Good morning, Muskingum County. The quiet heroism of everyday life takes center stage this week as we remember John William "Bill" Fox, whose 64-year journey from Air Force veteran to beloved postal carrier ended peacefully on March 7. His story—marked by dedicated service, community involvement, and a passion for trapshooting—reminds us that extraordinary legacies are often built through consistent, ordinary acts of showing up for family and community day after day.
As we enter the reflective season of Lent, connections are forming throughout our county. Rev. Shriver brings her message of adoration to this week's Lenten Luncheon, while Dickens Victorian Village honored its behind-the-scenes champions at their volunteer appreciation event. With Cambridge already planning for next year's 20th anniversary celebration, it's clear that whether through faith gatherings or historical preservation, the threads that bind our community continue to strengthen through shared purpose and mutual recognition.

🕊️ Beloved Air Force veteran and postal worker leaves behind a 64-year legacy. John William "Bill" Fox, 84, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family on March 7, 2025. The Coshocton native served in the US Air Force from 1958 to 1962 before becoming a letter carrier for the Coshocton Post Office. An avid trapshooter and hunter, Fox was active in several community organizations including the Masonic Lodge, American Legion, and Amvets. He is survived by his wife Kay, two children, three grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, and extended family.
🙏 Rev. Shriver brings message of adoration to Coshocton's Lenten Luncheon. The Solid Rock Foursquare Church pastor will speak at the Presbyterian Church on March 12, focusing on "Connecting to God through Adoration." The weekly event runs from 11:45 a.m. to 12:45 p.m., featuring soups, pies and special music by Jami Kibler and Rev. Shriver herself. Several local churches are coordinating the luncheon, with culinary students from Coshocton Career Center providing one soup option. Attendees are encouraged to carpool as parking remains limited despite designated spaces in the adjacent city lot.
🎩 Dickens Victorian Village celebrates its unsung heroes at volunteer luncheon. The Cambridge Presbyterian Church event honored the many individuals who support the popular historical attraction. Local restaurants including Theo's, Mr. Lee's, and Kennedy's Bakery provided the meal, after which committee chairs shared updates on various activities. Tom Snyder chaired the luncheon, with door prizes donated by area merchants ensuring every attendee received a gift. The organization is already preparing for its milestone 20th anniversary celebration in 2025 and encourages new volunteers to join.
