Good morning, Meigs County. Determination comes in many forms, from water main repairs closing Parkersburg streets today to the extraordinary perseverance of Sarah Howard, who recently joined an elite club of just 200 hikers to complete all 1,444 miles of the Buckeye Trail. The Waynesville resident's five-year journey through Ohio's diverse landscapes in all seasons stands as a testament to human endurance—and the "spectacular" hiking community she credits for making the adventure truly memorable.

Meanwhile, Athens is bracing for its annual Halloween transformation as 30,000 revelers prepare to descend upon the city this weekend. The celebration begins with family-friendly activities before evolving into the famous Court Street block party Saturday night. Safety remains the priority, with Ohio University implementing stricter dorm visitor policies and local police coordinating extensive security measures. If you're planning to join the festivities, officials recommend keeping phones charged, staying hydrated, and maintaining contact with friends throughout the evening.
