🎻 Symphony spooks

Good morning, Meigs County. Halloween is hitting all the right notes as the Ohio University Symphony prepares to raise the spirits—and raise the roof—with their first-ever "Symphony of Screams" concert this Friday. With costumed musicians, audience prizes, and "Very Important Ghost" seating, this $10 musical haunt (free for those under 18!) proves that classical music doesn't have to be deadly serious—just a little dead.

Meanwhile, a familiar face is taking center stage at Stuart's Opera House as Devin Sudman steps into the spotlight as executive director. After serving as education director since 2021, his decade-long involvement with the historic venue positions him perfectly to strengthen Southeastern Ohio's arts ecosystem. In less harmonious news, Wood County Magistrate Court has been busy handling everything from shoplifting to more serious charges, with most defendants receiving fines and probation rather than jail time.
