Good morning, Meigs County. Here's a statistic that might surprise you: heart disease remains America's number one killer, which makes the recent achievement by Holzer Health System in Gallipolis all the more significant. The hospital just earned four prestigious American Heart Association awards for excellence in cardiovascular care—recognition that translates directly to better outcomes and shorter recovery times for patients throughout our region.
Meanwhile, on the roads and in the community, there's both relief and pride to report. A Saturday night collision at a Parkersburg intersection thankfully left all parties unharmed, with emergency responders quickly securing the scene. And in a remarkable achievement for one local organization, three women from the Old Hickory Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution have risen to prominent leadership positions at both state and national levels, continuing their chapter's tradition of service through historical preservation, education, and patriotism.
