Good morning, Meigs County. The sound of carnival rides, live music, and community laughter filled Civitan Park this weekend as the 93rd annual Belpre Homecoming festival welcomed an impressive 10,000 visitors. With perfect weather complementing free ride nights, the celebration delivered a financial reprieve for families while showcasing the town's vibrant community spirit through parades, stunt shows, and spectacular fireworks.

Meanwhile, history takes permanent form in neighboring Parkersburg, where newly installed memorial benches and a flagpole now honor 29 Revolutionary War heroes buried in Wood County. As applications close this Friday for the upcoming Parkersburg Homecoming Parade, "Fun in the Sun" preparations continue for the three-day festival featuring everything from dachshund races to bluegrass performances. The Blennerhassett Hotel owners will serve as grand marshals, leading what promises to be another memorable celebration of local pride and tradition.

The new installations include 13 recently discovered patriots' names alongside 16 previously identified veterans on existing monuments.
