Good morning, Marion County. In the pursuit of a more equitable community, the Marion Foundation has just infused $50,000 into local initiatives tackling racial disparities. Eleven nonprofits will now bring to life programs ranging from Latino health fairs to leadership summits for African American students—all aimed at building bridges and breaking barriers across our diverse county. This investment in our shared future demonstrates how targeted funding can spark meaningful change right where we live.

While one local story celebrates inclusion, another brings somber news as a Michigan visitor lost her life in a tragic intersection collision after failing to yield at a stop sign. Meanwhile, the theatrical landscape brightens with Evolution Theatre's imaginative premiere of "A Real Boy," a family-friendly reimagining of Pinocchio that explores identity and self-acceptance through July 13. The production transforms a classic tale into a contemporary conversation about what it truly means to be "real" in today's world.
