Good morning, Marion County. In the aftermath of devastating flash floods that claimed eight lives and damaged hundreds of properties, the Red Cross has mobilized swiftly across Ohio. About 50 staff members are now operating service centers through Saturday, providing crucial emergency assistance for immediate needs. Residents seeking help should bring identification and proof of residency—a small but essential detail during these challenging times.

Amid this community crisis, both tragedy and triumph mark our local landscape. A Michigan woman lost her life Monday after failing to yield at a stop sign, a stark reminder of road safety's importance. Yet even as we process this loss, there's cause for celebration as 180 students crossed the stage at the historic Marion Palace Theater for Buckeye Community School's graduation ceremony—a powerful testament to perseverance during difficult times in our community.
