Good morning, Jackson County. The art of healing takes innovative forms in southeast Ohio this week as OhioHealth O'Bleness Hospital partners with Nationwide Children's to bring specialized pediatric emergency care closer to home. This collaboration means families can now access expert children's care right in their community during peak hours, eliminating those stressful long drives when little ones need immediate attention β a significant advancement for local healthcare access.
The spirit of giving flows strong through our community as well, with Williamstown Bank's Giving Cup pouring out a record $3,222 donation to North Star Child Advocacy Center. And for those who appreciate traditional craftsmanship, mark your calendars for September 2025 when the West Virginia Quilt Festival returns to Ripley with its "West Virginia Legends" theme β a vibrant celebration of Appalachian heritage featuring everything from competitive quilt displays to hands-on classes at Cedar Lakes Conference Center.

π₯ Ohio hospital brings specialized pediatric emergency care closer to home. OhioHealth O'Bleness Hospital has partnered with Nationwide Children's Hospital to enhance emergency services for children in southeast Ohio. A pediatric nurse practitioner from Nationwide Children's will provide specialized care during peak hours (3-11 PM daily), working exclusively in the emergency department. This collaboration aims to reduce the need for families to travel for specialized pediatric treatment, with the O'Bleness emergency team continuing to provide care outside these hours. The partnership builds on Nationwide Children's recent opening of a Close To Home Center on the O'Bleness campus, strengthening their commitment to local healthcare access.
