Good morning, Jackson County. From uranium enrichment to naval history, the winds of revitalization are sweeping through our region. The former Portsmouth Gaseous Diffusion Plant—once a Cold War-era industrial site—is finding new purpose through companies like Centrus Energy and Oklo Inc. Community open houses on June 10-11 offer residents a firsthand look at these economic opportunities, complete with refreshments and prize raffles for those curious about our area's industrial renaissance.

Meanwhile, educational pathways are expanding as Ohio University and Southern State Community College forge a seamless transfer partnership for associate degree graduates. Students in fields from Human Services to Nursing can now more easily continue their academic journeys. And in Parkersburg City Park, a piece of maritime heritage—a naval gun believed to be from the USS West Virginia—is receiving expert restoration, preserving this historical treasure for future generations to appreciate.
