π― Exotic serval cat caught after sightings in Warren Township. The Washington County Sheriff's Office reported the capture of the wild feline spotted around Cherokee Drive and Bender Road. Standing approximately 18 inches tall and weighing 19-40 pounds, servals are distinctive with their tawny, black-spotted coats and elongated necks and ears. The Ohio Department of Agriculture is now investigating the incident. Authorities had previously warned residents not to approach or attempt to capture the animal on their own.
πͺ Air Force veteran "Charlie Dave" Johnson leaves a legacy of service. The 72-year-old Jackson, Ohio resident passed away on March 20, 2025, after serving his country from 1971-1981 in Germany, Korea, Washington D.C., and other locations. A dedicated community member, Johnson was active in the Jackson Jaycees, Disabled American Veterans Chapter #45, Jackson Amvets Post 84, and the First Presbyterian Church. He called bingo at the DAV and served as honor guard chaplain for many years. Visitation and funeral services will be held April 4, with burial to follow at Fairmount Cemetery with military honors.
