🚑 St. Joseph’s Ambulance Service is shutting down this month. Citing unsustainable Medicare and Medicaid reimbursements, the service will cease operations on March 31. President Dwane Weekley revealed that Medicare rates cover only 50% of ground ambulance costs, making continued service impossible. The closure affects 83 staff members and leaves Wood County officials scrambling for alternative emergency medical coverage.
