🏢 Vinton County targets old sheriff's office for demolition grant. The former Sheriff's Office is one of several buildings slated for removal under a state demolition grant being sought by county commissioners. Other targeted structures include portions of the former McArthur Standard Hardware Store and the former Mullins Pizza location on U.S. Route 50. The commissioners officially accepted the demolition plan during their Tuesday meeting on March 11. Additionally, the commissioners announced that an EMS project will be rebid with a new deadline of March 25.
🎓 Wellston High School Alumni set crucial banquet planning meeting. Alumni will gather on Sunday, March 16 at 1 p.m. in the First Presbyterian Church's Fellowship Hall to organize the 2025 Alumni Banquet.
