Good morning, Geauga County. The humble crosswalk—a painted reminder of our shared responsibility to look out for one another—has become the focal point of community safety discussions after a 76-year-old business owner was struck in downtown Chagrin Falls. As Antonia Hadad recovers in rehabilitation and the driver faces court proceedings, the incident underscores ongoing conversations about pedestrian safety that affect everyone who navigates our village centers.

Meanwhile, twin stories of growth and giving back are unfolding across our region. Progressive Insurance's massive hiring initiative promises 12,000 new positions nationwide, showcasing the company's remarkable expansion with flexible work arrangements. Closer to home, the Beachwood 100 dinner on May 1 will honor the children of first responders with college scholarships—a heartwarming reminder that behind every emergency worker stands a family making its own sacrifices for our community's wellbeing.
