Good morning, Geauga County. The roads we travel carry more than just vehicles—they carry responsibility. That reality became starkly evident after a Cleveland man's rollover crash in University Heights led to OVI charges when he admitted to using narcotics before and during his drive. The incident highlights a series of public safety challenges documented in recent police reports, from shoplifting to domestic disturbances, reminding us that community safety requires vigilance from all sides.

Changes are brewing across the region, from ballot boxes to factory floors. Willowick voters will soon decide whether their fire chief should be excluded from classified service, potentially reshaping the department's operational structure. Meanwhile, economic growth appears on the horizon as British manufacturer Balmoral Tanks prepares to establish its first American production facility in Mentor this summer, bringing international industry to our Midwest doorstep.
