Good morning, Geauga County. The retail landscape is shifting beneath our feet as Mentor's Great Lakes Mall heads to the auction block. Once a cornerstone of suburban shopping, industry experts predict this longtime fixture won't continue as a traditional retail center but will likely transform into something entirely new—a tangible reminder of how our commercial spaces are evolving in response to changing consumer habits.

Meanwhile, spring celebrations are hopping into high gear across our community. This weekend brings a flurry of Easter egg hunts to seven different locations, complete with appearances by the Easter Bunny himself. From Burton's games and giveaways to Chardon's pre-hunt pancake breakfast, each event offers its own special touch. The seasonal festivities continue with Friday's VFW fish fry, upcoming gardening workshops, and charitable events that showcase the vibrant community spirit blooming throughout Geauga County.
