🍗 Sandwich showdown

Geauga County • April 7, 2025

Good morning, Geauga County. The landscape of local dining options just expanded as Jimmy John's and Popeyes stake their claims in Painesville. While Jimmy John's breathes new life into the former Georgio's Pizza location with multiple ordering conveniences, Popeyes has established itself in a brand-new building on Mentor Avenue – giving residents fresh choices for satisfying those sandwich and fried chicken cravings without leaving the neighborhood.

Beyond food, community matters are heating up across the region. University Heights officials are navigating the delicate balance between John Carroll University's athletic facilities and neighborhood tranquility, while also addressing contentious parking regulations. Over in Cleveland Heights, a marathon council session tackled everything from affordable senior housing to urgent parking challenges for local businesses affected by recent fire damage. Both communities are proving that even the most mundane municipal meetings reveal the intricate dance of local governance.
