Good morning, Gallia County. Ancient wisdom meets modern wellness as free Tai Chi classes arrive at the Gallia County Senior Center next week. Beginning September 8, these evidence-based sessions promise relief from arthritis pain and improved balance through gentle movements and controlled breathing—a timely opportunity for adults 60+ looking to enhance their physical wellbeing while connecting with others in the community.

History takes center stage this month with two remarkable events celebrating influential American stories. Comic strip aficionados can meet "Charles Schulz" at Bossard Library on September 14, exploring the legacy of the man who brought Charlie Brown and Snoopy into our lives. Meanwhile, America's oldest emancipation celebration returns for its 162nd year on September 20-21, featuring films about the Tuskegee Airmen and revealing the remarkable history of Lambert Lands, where formerly enslaved people established a thriving community that lasted 126 years.

🗽 America's oldest emancipation celebration marks 162 years in Ohio. The Gallia County Emancipation Celebration returns to the University of Rio Grande on September 20-21, featuring the theme "Freedom, Faith & Fellowship." Highlights include a mobile theater showing films about the Tuskegee Airmen and Women Airforce Service Pilots, plus presentations on the historically significant Lambert Lands.
