Gallia County • June 23, 2025
Good morning, Gallia County. In an era where 20 people die daily awaiting organ transplants, the power of donation was front and center at Mason County's recent CEOS event. Speaker Kay Harper Martin's family kidney transplant story highlighted how one donor can save up to eight lives, while economic development plans unveiled $13 billion in investments coming to the region—including a hydrogen plant, historic renovations, and 4,000 new homes to accommodate growth.
History springs to life at Bossard Library this July as Living History Nights returns with remarkable portrayals of Chuck Yeager, Katherine Johnson, and Neil Armstrong—three pioneers who pushed the boundaries of flight and space exploration. Meanwhile, the community celebrated two of its own groundbreaking figures as retired County Recorder Molly Plymale and Judge Dean Evans received lifetime achievement awards for their decades of public service, proving that local heroes deserve just as much recognition as their more famous counterparts.
