Gallia County • June 24, 2025
Good morning, Gallia County. The numbers tell a compelling story of community impact: 176 participants at the Fishing Rodeo, 265 students on the Buckeye Hills honor roll, and 12 dedicated members planning the future of Pleasant Community club. Behind these figures are the countless connections being forged across Mason County, where the Family Resource Network is tackling everything from food insecurity to supporting unsheltered residents with practical compassion.
Our landscape itself carries stories, as evidenced by the colorful history of Mail Pouch tobacco barns that once dotted rural highways—now preserved through educational presentations at local gatherings. This blend of heritage and forward momentum continues at Buckeye Hills Career Center, where academic excellence flourishes across five participating high schools. With Vinton County leading in straight-A achievements and community initiatives like the Little Free Library expanding access to books, our region's commitment to both honoring the past and building the future remains steadfast.
